Online the new publication of the Joint Research Center "Mapping the role of Raw Materials in Sustainable Development Goals"

The Joint Research Center has published the new "Mapping the role of Raw Materials in Sustainable Development Goals" policy that analyzes how raw materials can hinder or contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, based on existing literature and on expert opinion.

The study considers the entire value chain (extraction, production, use, end-of-life) of biotic and abiotic materials.

The paper also illustrates the links with current European policies and actions relating to the sustainability of raw materials, from extraction to consumption.
